Fresh, handmade, vegetarian, cruelty-free, ethical, sustainable,…all the buzzwords that get me. What more could you want out of products that you put on your face and body? I had heard about Lush Cosmetics, but I didn’t know much about their brand practices and had never tried any of the products. I was recently able to try out a bunch of their holiday things, and let me tell you: I. Am. Completely. Sold.
First of all, everything smells so incredible, I want to eat it. The orange body scrub? You need to smell this. When the package arrived at the Faust Magazine office, the mix of products left the most delicious scent in the room. I almost want to say that it doubles as bath and body products and home scents lol. But honestly, the scent alone would have me repurchasing.
Not only did everything smell amazing, but they worked so well. The bath and shower products were so nice on my skin, the lotion was so hydrating, the shampoo was so gentle…let me count the ways. I had never tried solid body lotion or solid shampoo before and was a little skeptical about them. Safe to say that I was really surprised at how well they both worked and how much I actually like the solid format. The more I use the different products, the more I want to use them. I have already ran out to buy other things and have replaced many of the bath and body products I used to use with the new ones from Lush. The only thing is that the solid products don’t come with packaging in order to reduce waste (and I’m all for it), so you have to find your own way to store them. I’ve been using empty packaging from other beauty and makeup brands to keep my things in.
The bonus to it all is the company’s mission to provide fresh, clean, and ethical products fits right into my objective of living a cleaner, more natural and sustainable life. It’s just something that has become more and more important to me and is what led me to Lush in the first place. Add in the fact that these products actually work and smell incredible, I don’t see myself going back to any of my old products anytime soon.
